• Mactan Island Aquarium is the only aquarium in the area,and boasts a great collection of sea life. It takes visitors on a guided tour of the ocean, with the final stop being a Shark Tank, where an additional option for guests can be to feed the sharks.
• The Lapulapu Monument is a historic must see for visitors on their holiday to Mactan Island. It shows a war hero holding holding two weapons, and symbolises the battle that took place between the island chief and the explorer Ferdinand Magellan.

Great Group Adventures in Mactan Island

As a coral island with rich marine life and clear waters, Mactan offers some great diving. It has a number of dive centres, ideal for beginners and more advanced levels.

• Kontiki is the most popular of these diving areas, with unique corals and colourful fish attracting many visitors every year. The drop off is at 6 metres, which makes it perfect beginners, and from there a wall drop of 40 metres which will give better views.
• Tambuli is an easy dive site and great for beginners. It only descends to 20 metres, and if you want to learn about the different varieties of small fish, this is the perfect spot.
• The Shangri-la House reef boasts rich coral formations and is surrounded by a sandy floor. If you want to try your hand at underwater photography then head to here.
• Marigondon dive site is located around 100 metres off shore, and the maximum dive depth reached here is 180 ft. The waters here are choppy with strong currents, so it is not suitable for beginners, and even experienced divers should be accompanied. Dropped anchors and a cave can be explored here.
