Costa Blanca Holidays 2012-2013

One of the most wonderful things about the Costa Blanca is its fantastic climate. The year round good weather is one of the major draws for travellers from all over the world. During the summer expect 12 hours of sunshine a day and even in the winter you can expect up to six hours with much warmer temperatures than inland Spain and even in October you can still expect a lovely warm sea. Costa Blanca beaches are some of the finest Spain has to offer. El Carabassi is a beautiful beach of pale gold sands, while Alicante beach provides you with beautiful sunny vistas of a vast ocean and behind an historic town complete with the looming castle above. The sweeping beaches of Benidorm are long and beautiful with the city just moments away while Tabarca island is empty in comparison with miles of unspoiled white sands that are home to a quaint Spanish town.

A beach holiday is not a beach holiday without some sea bound adventure and the thrill seekers are well catered for with many a beach offering jet skiis, kite surfing, gliding and wind surfing. While those wanting to explore the depths of the Mediterranean will find countless dive spots to keep them entertained, some of the best are found at Moraira, Javea and Benitachell - all of which offer unique underwater worlds for you to explore. There are also boat trips available from almost every beach, fishing trips and yachts - everything is catered for.

Eating out in the Costa Blanca is a varied and exciting affair, there are numerous restaurants and eateries that are family friendly, supplying kids menus and high chairs but most importantly with a luscious mix of foods from around the world. A great restaurant for all the family in Costa Blanca is the Papaya tree in Orihuela Costa, here you will find an Asian colonial style eatery with delicious Thai food and a children’s menu. La Falua in Benidorm boasts to be one of the best restaurants in the area with a great wine cellar and interesting takes on old menu favourites.

Alicante beach holidays are well loved by one and all, vast stretches of pristine white beaches, crisp blue skies and crystal clear topaz waters combine to create an unforgettable experience. The blue flag beaches are the best for the family, with family friendly amenities and beachside bars and restaurants that will keep you glued to the beach front for the entire day. From Alicante beach all the way down to the Torrevieja beaches you are sure to find something perfect for everyone. One of the longest and widest beaches is the Playa san Juan de Alicante, which is north to the city, it’s 7km long and provides a beautiful clean beach for all the family.

Spain celebrates its traditions, music and culture to a massive degree and the Costa Blanca is no different - it offers a vibrant mix of entertainment to suit every taste. The festivals are not to be missed where revellers gather en mass to celebrate everything from the summer solstice to the re-establishment of Christian rule in Spain! Live music is Spain’s forte and there are venues packed with holidaymakers and locals all around the Costa Blanca. Many restaurants offer traditional food alongside Spanish folk music.

From Denia to San Miguel the food is just fabulous! For something a little intimate you should definitely try Deja Vu in Benidorm. Its small size all but ensures that it’s always full, but the low prices and wonderful food are too as much to blame. Or try out Bar La Font in Polop, this family run bar offers a relaxed atmosphere with an outdoor terrace alongside a wonderfully diverse menu. Of course the seafood should not be missed and a great place to try it out is in Barlovento in Alicante, it has a beachfront location, fresh seafood menu and superb wine collection that is perfect for a romantic night out.

Happy hours, theme parties and BBQ’s the Costa Blanca has it all. Bacarra in Gandia is the perfect summer venue with its disco garden and theme parties and wonderful itinerary of performers and one off events while the Cafe de la Posada in Denia is a laid back bar with mellow music and is a must be bar for the fashionable. The La Puerta Falsa in Murcia offers live music spanning from jazz and tango through to soul and hip-hop while the Sunset bar offers a comfortable lounge area with a nice mix of Spanish pop - this one’s also popular with the locals.
