When is the best time to go?
High season is between April and October, with temperatures averaging 25-30 degrees. Some of the biggests events and festiavals are held in August and also around the Easter period in March and April, so these are popular times to visit Costa Blanca.
Spectacular days out
Pretend you’re a knight in shining armour in Alicante’s historic castle, a great way to get a feel of the olden days and take in former culture of this historic region. It might be a bit too hot for a full body armour though, just bring some shorts!
Hidden gems
Virtually unheard of, Calblanque is a stunning natural paradise perfect for enjoying the beach without the crowds. Explore the quiet coves and sandy beaches; you’re more likely to be disturbed by a noisy seagull than be smacked in the face by a wayward volleyball.
How’s the shopping?
Costa Blanca has all the souvenir shops that you expect from a popular tourist destination. Alicante and Benidorm have some impressive boutiques and are well worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some shopping or just fancy dragging your other half through hours of retail torture.

- English is widely spoken especially in the larger resorts, in Benidorm you’ll probably be learning new words from the locals
How much should I tip?
- Spain’s restaurants rarely apply a service charge but make yourself look like a flambouyant business man and chuck a tip the waiters way, 5% to 10% should do
