Holidays to Islantilla provide a world of exploration for the more adventurous as well as catering for those who just love to shop
The seaside town of Islantilla is located near to La Antilla, between Lepe and Isla Cristina in Andalusia, southern Spain facing the Atlantic Ocean.
The town of Islantilla is quite a new town and has been well developed for tourism with most properties overlooking the coast or within a short walk. There are some fantastic walks along the promenade through the Islantilla dunes. Hiring a bicycle whilst on your Costa de la Luz holiday is a good idea and opens up the choices of beaches to explore.
There are two shopping centres in Islantilla as well as many bars, a supermarket and a golf resort with 27-hole golf course.
Nestled between the Portugese border and Spain’s Costa del Sol, is the Costa de la Luz or “Coast of Light”.
The sand is finer and more golden than Costa del Sol, and the beaches are generally more spread out and backed by sand dunes and pine trees. You can choose from natural, virgin beaches to others with facilities and infrastructure, from small isolated coves and fishing ports to beaches stretching for miles, and from family beaches to others more secluded.
The Costa de la Luz is 100 kilometres of sandy beach bliss with varied water sports opportunities, and you will not find the high-rise hotel developments of other areas, which makes holidays in Costa de la Luz a popular choice. There is a huge selection of water sports, golf, fishing, gliding and mountain biking, and the Bay of Cadiz annually hosts the “Tall Ships” regatta.
