When is the best time to go?

The Costa Del Sol enjoys 300 days of sunshine meaning there is guaranteed sunshine and warm seas throughout the year. Although the summer is peak season, the Costa Del Sol is also a great place to escape the Brisitish winter, with temperatures averaging 16 degrees.

Spectacular nights out

Anything you’re looking for in a night out – Costa del Sol can provide. If you want to rub shoulders with the rich in Marbella, we recommend visiting Havana Bar where you can sip elegant cocktails whilst being soothed by a Latin beat. (Oooh aren’t you posh).

If you like to keep it real (and affordable) try out the nightlife in the resorts of Benalmadena or Torremolinos - both are resorts, not football players! Both offer a variety of family friendly bars (if Nan gets bored of clubbing) as well as some of the best nightclubs Spain has to offer. Disco Kiu is open until 7am at the weekends and a free drink is included in your entry fee. Malaga tends to be lower key with a more authentic Spanish feel.

Hidden Gems

If you’re recovering from a hangover or want to spend a day out of the sunshine, why not visit the Nerja caves? Take a tour around the underground network of stalagmites and explore the eerie yet beautiful rock formations. The perfect opportunity to leave the wife or husband behind!

How’s the shopping?

If you consider yourself a bit of a Posh Spice, why not visit the high fashion boutiques that flourish in Marbella’s Golden Mile? If your idea of shopping on holiday is a little more basic, (along the lines of a postcard home), check the seafront and in many resorts there are tourist shops aplenty for all the basics.

Food glorious food…

Depending on tastes and budget you will easily find the perfect meal for you in Costa Del Sol. If you are feeling adventurous why not try one of the beach side restaurants for a luxury meal starting from 15 euros whilst watching the sunset over the sea in Marbella? Otherwise each resort has a variety of restaurants to accommodate every taste and budget. For those hard up after a few too many wild nights you can grab a decent meal from 5-10 euros.

The mandatory worries

Travelling to a foreign country can be a daunting experience, so here’s some important information to remember when you’re on your holiday to Costa del Sol:

Can I drink the water?

  • You can drink it, but we do not recommend it.

What’s the 999 number?

  • Costa del Sol emergency services can be contacted on 112.

Shall I pack the sun cream?

  • To avoid being mistaken for a lobster for the rest of your holiday, it is highly recommended. In the summer months Costa del Sol can reach the 30’s so make sure you pack lots of cream and keep yourself hydrated!

How do I get around?

  • Getting around the key resorts of Costa del Sol is probably easiest on foot. However, if you need a taxi they are very reasonably priced. There are also rail lines between some of the main resorts and if you’re extremely anti-public transport, why not rent a car?

Shall I learn the local lingo?

  • Nope. A lot of bars and restaurants are run by British ex-pats and the locals probably speak better English than us.

Do I need to tip?

  • It’s not compulsory, but adding a little 5-10% tip if you’re happy with your meal.
