Heading 28 km east out of Malaga along the Mediterranean coast, you come to the town of Torre del Mar. A long promenade flanks Torre del Mar's wide sandy beach with lovely views of the hills and mountains.
There are many shops and bars in Torre del Mar, with a superb choice of restaurants many specialising in very good fish and seafood dishes. The town’s name, Tower of the Sea, comes from the many watch towers that in Roman and Moorish times guarded the coast. Boats leave the Caleta Cruise Club to allow you the chance to discover the superb coastline and see if you can spot any dolphins or other marine life in the vicinity.

El Copo Beach stretches along the sea front for three kilometres, of which much is lined with an excellent choice of bars and restaurants. At night in the summer, there are discos and clubs open until about 6am, with a sea front market open until 3am.
