Luscious Las Palmas

with its eclectic mix of cultures and bustling beaches, holidays in Las Palmas are an ideal destination for those seeking more than just the usual sunshine-fuelled getaway.

Grab a beach break to this vibrant city in Gran Canaria and you’ll find yourself feet first in the thriving centre of island life. Founded in the 15th century, it’s no surprise that there is a wealth of history to uncover – from its bustling port to its fascinating museums. If history isn’t your bag, you’ll find plenty of other activities to embark upon in the city, as well as immersing yourself in the unique spirit of this traditional Spanish destination.

Golden Sands

Those that have remembered to pack their bucket and spade for Las Palmas holidays should head to Las Palmas’ main beach for some time in the sun. Stretching on for nearly two miles, Playa de las Canteras is one of the longest beaches in the world and offers a great place to land your beach towel. Take a stroll along the seafront promenade for its cafes and restaurants or visit the nearby reef which is great for snorkelling.

Venturing further out, you’ll find even more sand in the form of Maspaloma’s Natural Dune Reserve. Take time to explore the park – you can’t help but imagine you’re in the middle of a vast desert and there is nothing quite like dipping your toes in the sand. If you prefer something more energetic on your holidays to Las Palmas, visit nearby Puerto Rico where you’ll find numerous activities and attractions. Thrill-seeking little ones will love splashing around in Aqualand Waterpark, where they’ll encounter whizzing water slides and thrilling rapids.
