Playa del Ingles Holidays

Playa Del Ingles holidays uncovered - insider tips

Whether you’re after a holiday to Playa Del Ingles that offers plenty of sun worshipping on the beach or an evening of late bars, pubs and nightclubs, lowcostholidays.com’s insider tips will help you discover your perfect holiday experience.

Spectacular nights out

The Kasbah centre is the hub of the lively Playa Del Ingles nightlife. Here you will find the famous clubs “Pacha”, “China Whites” and “Cream” churning out banging music till the early hours. So where do you start your night? You could try “”Lineker’s Bar” or any of the pubs in the “Irish Centre”. For a quieter evening out in Playa Del Ingles head to the bars along the promenade.

Hidden Gems

If you’re planning a day out on your Playa Del Ingles holidays, head to Sioux City. Originally built as a set for a 1972 Western film this Wild West Theme Park puts on shows of cowboys and Indians with robberies, saloon fights, gun fights and rodeos. You could try the BBQ evening on a Friday, where you can eat excellent food and try your hand at country dancing.

How’s the shopping?

Check out the duty free shopping in Playa Del Ingles, head to the Yumbo Centre and if you can’t find what you want there, take the 5 minute walk to the Kasbah and Metro Centres. You’ll find plenty of cheap electricals, clothes, cigarettes, alcohol and cameras – why not try haggling!

Where can I get a burger?

You’ll find the usual tourist restaurants serving something with chips and plenty of fast food restaurants but if you want something a bit more refined try “Espetada”, “Mundo” and “Restaurante Gaucho”. Or you could head into neighbouring Maspalomas, where there is a wide selection of good restaurants.

Get in with the locals...

Here’s some information to remember when you’re on your Playa Del Ingles holidays:

Can I drink the water?

  • It’s not something we recommend, you’re better off sticking to bottled water.

What’s the 999 number?

  • Gran Canaria emergency services can be contacted on 112.

Shall I pack the sun cream?

  • With year round sunshine, sun cream is recommended.

How do I get around?

  • You could get around by foot or taxis are relatively cheap, but just make sure you agree a price before you jump in.

Shall I learn the local lingo?

  • The locals seem to have a pretty good grasp of the English language so you don’t really need to learn the lingo.

Do I need to tip?

  • Tipping ranges from 5% to 10%, it's not compulsory but a good sign of appreciation if you’ve had an enjoyable meal.
