Picturesque Puerto Rico

Offering an intoxicating combination of fun and sun for families as well as groups, holidays to Puerto Rico will reveal you to a part of the Canary Islands packed with endless possibilities.

Nestled in the slopes of a volcanic valley and surrounded by a horsehoe-shaped bay, it’s no surprise that many of the visitors that flock to this destination do so for its stunning surroundings. Although quieter than Playa del Ingles, its lively neighbour, there is still a myriad of activities and experiences to delve into. Whether you’re happiest settled on sugar white sands with a good book or embracing the thrills of Gran Canaria’s wildest parks, you’re bound to fall in love with Puerto Rico holidays.

Hit the Coast

The main allure of a trip to Puerto Rico is undoubtedly, its beautiful beaches. To the north you’ll find Amadores Beach, a sprawling stretch of sand and a veritable hub for water sports enthusiasts – from diving to sailing and surfing to aqua bikes. In the town centre is Puerto Rico Beach, a particular favourite for families on holidays in Puerto Rico. Backed by a lively promenade of bars, tropical gardens and swimming pools, it serves as the ideal spot for entertainment – whether you’re seeking beachside bliss or something more animated.

Away from the beaches, there is plenty to do for restless little ones. A visit to Masapalomas will reveal to you its Natural Dune Reserve, an excellent place to dip your toes into the sand. Experience awe-inspiring views in this desert-like landscape where you can let the kids run wild. Alternatively, make a visit to the nearby Aqualand Waterpark. You’ll be able to top up your tans on the terrace while the older kids whizz through the thrilling Tornado water slide, with younger ones enjoying the pace of the Lazy Rapids.

Nightlife is laid-back on Puerto Rico holidays; with many restaurants throwing open their doors as soon as the sun begins to fade. The marina offers a great line-up of traditional Spanish eateries, serving up fresh seafood and delicious Canarian cuisine. An island escape like this one is all about lingering over drinks as you watch the sunset, but if you’re still feeling restless, head to the commercial centre at the bottom of the resort where you can give Beyonce a run for her money in the shimmying stakes.
