Portinatx holidays uncovered - insider tips

Whatever you want out of your holiday to Portinatx, lowcostholidays.com’s insider tips will help you discover your perfect holiday experience.

Spectacular nights out

It’s quite a family-orientated resort so don’t expect there to be evening chaos like in San Antonio, although there are a few bars with loud music to keep you entertained. A lot of the evening entertainment is hotel-based, which is perfect for family holidays in Portinatx. If you do decide to venture out, check out the “Zulu Lounge”.

Hidden Gems

The 10km walk from Portinatx to Punta de Xarraca is a long walk admittedly, but the views are stunning. It’s such a great way to see the unspoilt areas of Ibiza and get a taste for something other than partying and sunning yourself. Check out the variety of terrains from cliff views to rocky areas; it’s a bit of a trek but if you’re up for it, you will see it’s worth every step. For the less adventurous there are other paths and areas to try.

How’s the shopping?

Head to the open-air market on a Sunday, where you can pick up gifts and souvenirs such as leather, jewellery and pottery. The supermarkets stock British brands, which is perfect for self-catering holidays and for holiday essentials. You will find the usual stores with beach stuff, souvenirs and sun cream on your Portinatx holidays.

Where can I get a burger?

The restaurants in Portinatx serve everything from local dishes to international cuisine, with something to suit all tastes and ages. The locals in this Spanish resort love kids, so you’ll be fine if you’re dining with little ones. We would suggest you try some of the locally caught fish as well as the local wine, which is generally good and relatively inexpensive.

Get in with the locals...

Find it a bit daunting being in a foreign country? Well here’s some information to help on your Portinatx holidays:

Can I drink the water?

  • You could do, but we recommend you stick to bottled water.

What’s the 999 number?

  • Spain’s emergency services can be contacted on 112.

Shall I pack the sun cream/anorak?

  • Portinatx gets hot in the summer time so don’t forget to apply your high factor sun cream!

How do I get around?

  • If you can’t be bothered to walk, hail a cab. Taxis are quite cheap in Portinatx, but just make sure you agree a price before you jump in.

Shall I learn the local lingo?

  • It’s not necessary as the locals have a good grasp of the English language. A few phrases always help though.

Do I need to tip?

  • Tipping ranges from 5% to 10%; it's not compulsory so completely up to you.
