The most beautiful and unspoiled of the Canary Islands - La Palma is a world away from the busy resorts of Lanzarote or Tenerife. Whether you want to lounge on quiet beaches, explore the stunning landscape or relax and soak up the island's unique atmosphere, holidays in La Palma have something for everyone.
La Palma is one of the five beautiful Canary Islands. The island has its own airport so you can fly directly to La Palma from the UK, or from neighbouring Canary Islands such as Tenerife and Lanzarote. La Palma is wonderfully tranquil, perfect for those looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings. Many know La Palma as “La Isla Bonita” which means “the beautiful island”. A trip to La Palma will guarantee beautiful views with the island's stunning scenery all around. Take a walking trip to the mighty volcanoe La Caldera de Taburiente to experience some of the best and most beautiful views the island has to offer. The island actually has seven terrific volcanoes which are ideal for those that enjoy walking holidays. Hiking, cycling, horse riding, diving, dolphin and whale watching are some of the many things to do in la Palma.
The evenings on the island are spent enjoying tapas, good traditional Canarian food and the local wines. You will be able to soak up the Canarian atmosphere on holiday in La Palma and really relax. The liveliest resort on La Palma is Los Cancajos where you will find a selection of bars open until later in the evening.
You will find that the two main resorts of Los Cancajos and Puerto Naos have lovely dark sandy beaches; due to the volcanic nature of La Palma. There are water sports available on the beach in Los Cancajos.
