Arrecife Attractions

If you’re heading to Arrecife for your holiday but want to do more than sit on the beach all day, or you just want to find out where the best beaches are, lowcostholidays.com has some fantastic tips to help you make the most of your Lanzarote holiday.

Arrecife beaches:

  • Playa del Reducto is Arrecife’s main beach and with soft golden sand and calm waters it’s perfect for sunbathing, swimming and beach sports. It also has the European Blue Flag award for cleanliness and safety so it makes a great family beach
  • 2km from the main promenade you’ll find Playa del Cable, which is great if you fancy a change of scenery on your Arrecife holidays
  • If you hire a car you could travel further afield and explore more of the south coast’s fantastic beaches, including Playa Quemada and the three sandy beaches at Puerto del Carmen
  • For a secluded day on the beach, head out to one of the tiny islands around Arrecife’s coast, such as Isla San Gabriel

Arrecife activities:

  • The Castillo de San Jose is not only beautiful to look at and interesting to learn about, it also houses the Museo International de Arte Contemporáneo
  • Adventure and water sports are on offer all along the coast so look out for advertisements for karting, surfing, windsurfing, horse riding, paragliding and hiking
  • Visit Charco de San Gines, a beautiful lagoon in the east of the city. The area around San Gines is great for relaxing in a street cafe under the palm trees; eat, chat and gaze at the gorgeous surroundings on your holiday in Arrecife

Arrecife nightlife:

  • Arrecife is the hub of Spanish nightlife in Lanzarote as it’s less touristy than the other islands and nearby resorts. Jose Antonio Street is where you’ll find all the hard partying but if you want a quieter night there are plenty of small taverns and bars where you can while away the evening with some sangria
  • Nearby Puerto del Carmen is a popular spot for a more lively night out, with its famous promenade bursting with pubs, clubs and live music venues. Don’t forget to have a siesta so you can keep up with the locals on your Arrecife holidays!
  • Restaurants offer diverse menus so whether you want to try local delicacies or just fancy some chips, you’ll find what you want in Arrecife

Other attractions near Arrecife:

  • Timanfaya National Park is a fantastic Lanzarote attraction that mustn’t be missed if you can spare the travel time. The protected natural park is dotted with volcanoes, rare plant species and Lanzarote’s famous lunar landscapes and there’s plenty to do, from hiking and camel riding to coach tours of the park. Don’t forget to try ‘El Diablo’ restaurant, where all the food is cooked in the geothermal heat of the neighbouring volcano!
