The Rubicon Marina has everything you could you need for a family day out, including shops, restaurants, great views of the harbour and excursions including boat trips to other islands and dolphin watching. There is a market here every Wednesday and Saturday morning that is right on the harbour side and is a great place to pick up souvenirs.

You can hire kayaks and boats from the harbour, discover diving and snorkelling and play tennis on the harbourside courts.

The resort takes its name from the the main beach here, which holds the Blue Flag award for cleanliness and facilities. Its central location means that there are a wide range of cafes, shops and bars along the promenade. The waters here are shallow, although it does get some big waves when the ferry goes past!

There is no shortage of places to eat outside in Playa Blanca where you can enjoy views over the Marina and the Atlantic Ocean. From fine dining and traditional tapas to English cafés and Irish bars you will find something to suit every taste. We recommend La Bocaina for classic dishes with a modern twist.

This collection of smaller beaches that are split up by high cliffs are often thought of as the most beautiful beaches in Lanzarote. They are within a protected national park and accessible by a dirt track. There is a small entry fee of around €3. Another way of reaching the beaches is by water taxi from Playa Blanca beach. There a few facilities here so remember to take a picnic.

This beach is a few minutes walk from the main resort and is slightly quieter than Playa Blanca. It is a white sand beach that has been created with imported sand and is recommended to get a taxi here or drive if you have hired a car, as it is a fair walk and may be difficult with young children. There are small gift shops and cafes here where you can stock up on supplies and refreshments throughout the day. There is plenty of shade from palm trees and the waves here are small.

Although they can get busy at the weekends, the beaches at Papagayo are some of the most beautiful on Lanzarote. They are backed by sand dunes and separated by high cliffs, so you can find your own spot of paradise in this stunning, protected national park. Remember to take everything you need with you as there are minimal facilities here.

Most of the activities here are based around the ocean. You can stay on dry land and watch the luxury yachts go by from one of the many romantic, harbourside restaurants in the Rubicon Marina. If you want to be out on the waves then there are many excursions to choose from including whale watching trips and catamaran cruises.
