Best Beaches

There are over 6km of beaches with crystal clear waters and plenty of smaller coves to explore.

  • Playa Grande is the largest beach with restaurants, shops and lifeguards.
  • Los Pocillos is more exposed and is excellent for windsurfing.
  • Matagorda is a quieter beach with cycle hire available.
  • El Barranquillo is a small sheltered, picturesque beach perfect for sunbathing.

The harbour with its excellent restaurants and old town with its original charm and old fashioned customs are great places to explore on your holiday.

If you’re planning to visit at the end of July you’ll experience the Fiesta de Carmen with its folklore performances and singing and dancing!

It comes to life by night with bars, nightclubs and casinos to keep you entertained into the small hours. For something less lively, then you can head to the restaurants at the harbour or look for family entertainment on offer along the main road.

Scuba diving in Lanzarote is unforgettable with its unique underwater landscape formed by years of volcanic activity.
