Puerto Pollensa holidays uncovered - insider tips
Whatever you decide to do on your holidays to Puerto Pollensa, whether it’s lazy beach days or a bit of exploration, lowcostholidays.com’s insider tips will help you discover your perfect holiday experience.
Spectacular nights out
If you’re after late night shenanigans, you’re in the wrong resort; Puerto Pollensa is as laid back in the evening as it is during the day. If you’re lucky enough to be here in July you will get to see parades, street dancing and concerts in honour of St Anthony.
A lot of the evening entertainment is hotel-based; you could always hop in a taxi to Alcudia if you want to dance the night away.
Hidden Gems
The Old Town of Pollensa is one of the oldest on the island and worth checking out. Head to the main square “Plaça Major” where you will find the church of Nostra Senyora dels Àngels. Don’t be put off by the austere exterior; the interior of the church is stunning. There’s more of the old town to discover with the Via Crucis stone stairway that leads to a small chapel where you will see a statue of Mare de Déu del Peu de la Creu. There is also an 18th century monastery to the south of the town you may want to visit.
How’s the shopping?
A trip to the local market on a Sunday is a must; held in the church square of the old town you will find fresh fruit, leather goods, local crafts and ceramics –souvenirs that are a little more authentic than the goods you’ll find in the tourist shops. There are plenty of those in Puerto Pollensa, so we would definitely recommend you check out the market!
Where can I get a burger?
You will find a restaurant to suit any taste and age in Puerto Pollensa. Fish restaurants are well known in this resort and come highly recommended. For an exclusive meal try C’an Cuarassa, a Michelin star restaurant where you’ll get an excellent meal for around £25 – bargain!
We also recommend you try “Clivia”, “Restaurant Ca’n Costa” and “Little Italy”.
