Playa del Duque is the main beach in Costa Adeje where you will find upmarket bars and cafes along the promenade, as well as boutique style shops and luxurious sun loungers.

Playa la Pinta is slightly more family orientated with inflatables and trampolines.

Playa Fanabe is the best beach in the area for water sports and activities and also boasts the Blue Flag award for cleanliness and accessibility.

One of the most popular activities in this part of Tenerife is golf and Golf Costa Adeje is an excellent 27 hole course, which also has a spa that is perfect for a day of pampering if your partner is not a golf fan.

For a bit more action there is a large go-karting track near by, or to cool off after a long day in the sun, head to Siam Park. This Thai themed water park has everything from lazy rivers and wave pools to a Thai floating market.

A must see when in Lanzarote is the National Timanfaya Park, home to a still active volcano.

Costa Adeje is one of the best resorts in Tenerife for eating out, where you will find over 12 different cuisines represented by excellent restaurants. It is especially good for seafood and mediterranean cuisine, including paella and tapas. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from that have amazing views looking over the water, especially Las Rocas, which is actually over the sea on the terrace.

Costa Adeje has some of the best beaches in Tenerife, stretching along the coast line of the south of the island. The blue flag beaches are popular with sunbathers and water sports enthusiasts alike and you will often find games of beach volleyball. You will find golden and black sand beaches here and most have sunbeds and parasols for hire.

In Costa Adeje as well as there being the usual wide range or cuisines along the promenades and in the towns, you will find a variety of fine dining restaurants here. For a treat we recommend the Carlos restaurant for excellent Thai food or the Restaurante Sebastian for authentic Spanish tapas.

The beaches here make it a popular destination for snorkelling, fishing and scuba diving. The mountains above Adeje attract walkers and hikers to the area, with views over the Atlantic Ocean. The seas around Costa Adeje is home to a pod of pilot whales and there are a wide choice of whale and dolphin watching excursions available.

This black sand beach has lifeguards year round and shallow waters, making it ideal for a family trip to the beach.

You can easily drive to this beach if you have hired a car and there is ample parking. There are also showers and changing rooms so you don't take half of the beach back to your hotel with you!

This beach has also previously won the Blue Flag award.

This is one of the most popular beaches in Costa Adeje and has over 400m of natural grey sand. There are few waves here as the beach is sheltered, so it is perfect for swimming. You can rent water sports equipment here and there are lifeguards present.

Scuba diving and snorkelling are popular at this beach, where you can explore the underwater world of Tenerife. There are also paragliding and parascending facilities.
