Los Cristianos holidays uncovered - insider tips
Whatever you decide to do on your holidays to Los Cristianos, whether its relaxing days on the beach or lively nights outs, lowcostholidays.com’s insider tips will help you discover your perfect holiday experience.
Spectacular nights out
Los Cristianos is quite lively at nighttime, but nowhere near as noisy as its neighbour Playa de las Americas. So if you’re after a round the clock party atmosphere, hop on a bus or in a taxi to Playa. That said, there are plenty of entertainment options with late bars serving cocktails and drinks till the early hours, check out the “Irish Bar”, “Bar 31” and the “Victory” where the drinks are reasonably priced.
Hidden Gems
If you’re going to do anything on your holiday to Los Cristianos, head to Mount Teide National Park where you can take a cable car up the mountain – don’t do it if you suffer from vertigo as the ascent is almost vertical but the views are out of this world when you reach the top.
How’s the shopping?
The words duty-free should spring to mind when you think about shopping in Los Cristianos and stocking up on those things where you pay huge amounts of tax in England. You can pick up all sorts including perfume, cigarettes, alcohol, clothing and electricals. For souvenirs steer away from the seafront and head to the stores where you can buy local crafts and cultured pearls.
Where can I get a burger?
There is a restaurant for all tastes and cuisines in Los Cristianos from fast food to top quality cuisine. Fancy hanging out in the more trendy establishments? Check out “Piccolo”, “Chill Out” and “Plan B”. We also recommend you try some of the local cuisine and locally caught fish dishes.
Get in with the locals...
Going on holiday to a new country can be quite daunting, so here’s some information to remember when you’re on your Los Cristianos holidays:
Can I drink the water?
- It’s not something we recommend. You’d be better off with Bottled water.
What’s the 999 number?
- Tenerife emergency services can be contacted on 112.
Shall I pack the sun cream?
- Sun cream is recommended, unless you want to look like a lobster!
How do I get around?
- The local bus service is cheap and regular; it’ll only cost you a couple of Euros to get to Playa De Las Americas. It’s also quite cheap to grab a taxi, just make sure you agree a price before you jump in.
Shall I learn the local lingo?
- A lot of the locals speak English. You could learn the odd phrase like please or thank you if you want to be polite.
Do I need to tip?
- Tipping ranges from 5% to 10%, it's not compulsory but a good sign of appreciation if you’ve had an enjoyable meal.
