The clubs are situated in three main parts of town – the patch, Veronica’s and the Starco Commercial Centre. In the patch you will find cabaret clubs and family entertainment and most bars are child friendly. Veronica’s is full of late night bars and is fully pedestrianised, with some clubs staying open until 6am.

There is every type of cuisine you could possibly wish for in Playa de las Americas, restaurants and bars line the promenade here, so you can dine in style looking out over the sunset. Restaurants serve food until much later in Spain so expect to be able to eat until about 11pm. Look out for Pappas Arrugadas, traditional baked potatoes with chilli sauce.

The best hotels that are close enough to the nightlife, yet also far away enough so as not be disturbed on the nights that you don’t go out, are between Los Cristianos and Playa de las Americas. We recommend the Hotel Dream Noelia Sur and the Compostela Beach Golf Club, both are within walking distance to the beach.

You will be spoilt for choice for great family hotels in Playa de las Americas, with everything from self-catering apartments to five star hotels. We recommend the Laguna Park II Apartments, just 500m from the beach and the Best Hotel Tenerife with children’s entertainment throughout the day.

The beaches between Playa de las Americas and neighbouring Los Cristianos have soft golden sand, perfect for sunbathing and sandcastle building. Playa de Guincho is slightly rockier and is great for surfers and windsurfers. Here, you have the choice of volcanic black sand or golden sandy beaches.

The selection of places to eat in Playa de las Americas will guarantee that no-one in your party will go hungry, from restaurants to café and street food, the cuisines range from English and Spanish to Indian and Chinese, with everything in between. Children are welcome in most and you will find plenty of outside seating. We recommend the Vista Sur restaurant located right on the beach front. Try the traditional Pappas Arrugadas, which are salty baked potatoes, served with a chilli dip!

There are some great apartments in Playa de las Americas, perfect for when there you want some privacy. Self-catering or half board options mean that you can explore the restaurants and bars on offer. All-inclusive hotels are a great option for a relaxing holiday where you don't have to worry about anything apart from enjoying yourself!

Siam Park is the ultimate water park and must-see attraction in Tenerife. It has thrill ride slides for adventure seekers as well as a children’s area with tamer slides, a huge wave pool and sandy beach. This Thai themed park even has its very own floating Thai market and private cabanas, where you can relax on your own balcony.

The beaches in Playa de las Americas offer all the facilities you could need for a day in the sun, including sun loungers, showers and promenades lined with restaurants and bars. For a more secluded beach head to Playa del Camison.
