Switzerland Holidays in 2013

Description

Travelling on holiday to Switzerland is like visiting three countries in one, with Germany, Italy and France all having influence across this multi faceted land. Clean, organised and efficient is just part of the culture here and there really is so much on offer whether you travel in summer or winter.

The Swiss Alps are truly magnificent with vistas that come right from a chocolate box. In summer green pastures are alive with Alpine flowers and cows grazing to the sound of the bells round their necks. In winter you are in a wonderland of white, wooden houses with steep roofs nestle amongst some of the world’s best ski resorts, after all it was in Switzerland where skiing was first done for fun.

Swiss cities are also multi facetted; at first glance Zurich is a town of Bankers but visit it and you find a uber-trendy place filled with clubs, pubs, chic shops and the home of Europe’s largest annual street carnival. Geneva set on the shores of the glittering lake is home to the U.N., W.H.O. and the International Red Cross and is a fantastic destination in its own right. Both Zurich and Geneva make wonderful holiday bases whether for a summer holiday or winter skiing break.
