An Unforgettable Holiday Experience
Holidays to Tenerife always boast a wide range of things to do, and in February and March it hosts some of the best carnivals in the world. The main carnivals are in Santa Cruz and Los Cristianos.
There are colourful parades, carnival queens, and countless food and drink stands during the day, and the parties carry on throughout the night until the early hours. The Santa Cruz Carnival is second only to the carnival in Rio de Janiero in terms of size and spectacle, and is only four hours flight time from the UK!
In the Canary Islands most carnivals end with the traditional 'Burial of the Sardine', which represents the local people giving up luxury foods and having to eat sardines throughout lent. Everyone of every age on the island joins in with the carnival, and visiting during festival period will guarantee an unforgettable holiday.
The weather in Tenerife is warm year round, so for some winter sun and a carnival experience to remember, head to Tenerife.
