Situated just a few minutes from the Ayodhaya Suites Resort & Spa, the city of Ao-Nang offers all you need for an enjoyable holiday, with plenty of shops, restaurants and several great attractions including the most westernised beachin Krabi. You will find almost all you need easily as it is either located along the beach running from east to west or along one the main highways, Airport Road, which runs up north from the east end of the beach.
Although Ao-Nang does not have any shopping malls or supermarkets there are plenty of convenience stores and souvenir shops, which sell all the holiday essentials including food, clothing, shoes and other trinkets, most of which can be found along the beachfront road. The city also has a good number of restaurant that vary in quality and expense, ideally you want to look for the “Clean food, great taste” sign that signifies the food is cooked with boiled water and well done. The more expensive restaurants can be found mostly along the beachfront whereas the ones up the hill are a more reasonable priced and equally as good.
Some of the popular attractions in the area include the Fossil Shell Beach with its slates of 40 million year old compressed shellfish, however this area is considered something of a tourist trap due to the high price to get in. There is also the picturesque beach of Nopparat Thara Beach, zoned as a national park and a bit further out you can find one of the cleanest beaches in the area, Rai Lay Beach with several caves that are worth exploring.
