Every tombstone on this site overlooks the sea, as a tribute to all the sailors, fishermen and even pirates buried on Mahdia. As you walk around the coastline to the end of the peninsula, to the area known as the Cape of Africa, there are many ruins and ancient fortifications scattered around, with a red lighthouse dominating the coast. After so much exploring, you should return to the fish marketplace, and visit one of the restaurants offering fresh seafood to enjoy a meal in the setting sun.
