Explore Antalya

Antalya holidays offer an insight into Turkish tradition, with the atmospheric harbour and an old town that is bursting with traditional Turkish architecture and narrow streets. Why not take the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, head to the pine forests in the Taurus Mountains or visit the pretty resort of Side to see the Amphitheatre that dates back to the Hellenistic period, the Temple of Apollo and the Roman baths. Antalya holidays would not be complete without a visit to the ancient site of Olympus, view a bathhouse with mosaic floors, a theatre and some excavated tombs – just don’t forget to take your camera!

For great family fun on your Antalya holidays, head to the Aquapark, where you can swim with the dolphins and try out the thrilling rides to your hearts content. Antalya is also near to the Dedeman Aquapark, which is one of the largest in the Middle East. After a long day of activities, why not chill out in one of the many restaurants serving local and international cuisines, or head to the marina to sample some of the excellent fresh fish on your holidays in Antalya.

Attractions

The city of Antalya offers some great attractions for those who visit, from stunning architectural sites and enthralling museums, to diverse shops and some fine restaurants. The city itself splits into two parts, the old town and the newer, more modern city. The old city is filled with Ottoman buildings and small, cobbled streets, which you can spend an afternoon wandering around.

Things to do

The city is ideal for taking some long strolls and just getting lost in the beautiful architecture, which spans across eras and movements. You can shop in the traditional bazaars, unique boutiques and in the Turkish markets, which are filled with local produce and crafts. The beach is ideal for swimming and water sports, while the surrounding landscape is ideal for walking and hiking trips.

Nightlife

You can join the friendly, welcoming locals and enjoy some authentic Turkish nightlife in the city centre, where entertainment such as belly dancing and folk dancing is enjoyed alongside some delicious local cuisine. The centre of the old town is home to a variety of night-time venues, such as outdoor bars and discos.

Hotels

The Alp Pasa Boutique Hotel is found in a beautiful, ancient building that dates back to the 18th century and sits in the heart of the old town.
