A holiday to Side is full of history and culture and there is plenty to see and do with the whole family. Visit the ancient Agora baths and the city walls, all the while soaking up the beautiful Mediterranean climate. There are also plenty of ancient ruins dotted throughout the city.
There's lots to see and do in the city centre, and shopping is a big attraction of the area, as there are hundreds of shops dotted throughout the town. You can pick up some really interesting souvenirs including carpets, jewellery, and leather goods.
There are some great British-style pubs in the town centre which are family friendly and away from the beach, or you can try some of the bars along the beach front if you are travelling with older children.
The Angora Hotel is an affordable hotel situated just 1km from the beach. The hotel has its own private section of the beach so guests won't have to fight over a spot to relax on at the beach! The hotel also has its own swimming pool and a playground for children.
There are loads of ancient ruins dotted throughout Side, and highlights include an aqueduct and an ancient theatre. Be sure to visit the grotto as well, which is connected to the ancient nymphaeums.

The beach at Side has golden sand, and great year-round Mediterranean weather. There are two main beaches: Kemer beach, and Sorgun beach. Sorgun is quieter than Kemer, but it is recommended that you visit both to get a taste of the area.
Try your hand at scuba diving, hire a banana boat or go water-skiing. When on holiday in Side, many of the hotels will have their own sports facilities or private beaches, so it's easy to try something new when on holiday!
Kemer Beach stretches for around 10km, and there are plenty of beach bars and restaurants that line the sea front. This is where the majority of water sports take place. Sorgun beach is quieter, and great if you want to relax and enjoy a romantic sunset.
Situated on the sea front, the Asteria Hotel is a 5 star hotel which has an indoor and outdoor pool with two water slides outdoors. There is also a fitness centre, sauna room and Jacuzzi on site for ultimate relaxation.
Side is full to the brim with ancient ruins, many of which line the town, and house shops and restaurants. Take a day trip out of town and visit the nearby Manavgat waterfalls, which are eerily breathtaking.
Take a boat trip up the Manavgat River, and see the waterfall from another direction, as well as the beautiful scenery of the area. If you enjoy golfing and want to relax, head to Belek Golf course where there are several courses for you to try.
The Side Culture and Art Festival takes place every September and celebrates opera, ballet and classical music. Take a day trip to Alanya for more festivals which happen year round.
There are loads of historical sites to see including the city gate and walls, the Side Theatre, and the main Agora. Also visit the temple of Apollo which is a landmark of Side, plus many of the basilicas which are dotted through this ancient city.
