- Andriyivskyy Descent, described as the Montmarte of Kiev, is a historic road connecting the Upper Town neighbourhood to the Podil neighbourhood, which is filled a number of historical landmarks, such as: the House of Peter the Great, the Fountain of Samson and various other worthwhile attractions.
- Pay a visit to the National Art Museum of Ukraine, which is a large building dedicated to Ukrainian art, ranging form medieval to contemporary, this is a fantastic place to gain some understanding of the history of the Ukraine.
- Though it may be viewed by some as too solemn for a holiday attraction, the Ukrainian National Chernobyl Museum stands as both a museum, and monument to those affected by the disaster, and Ukrainian society.
- The Golden Gate was the entrance to the ancient city and dates back to the 11th century. It’s a beautiful structure, certainly worth a visit while on your way to Kiev’s old town.
