Douglas Holidays 2012

Douglas at a Glance

Those in search of rest and relaxation would be hard pushed to find anywhere better for their UK based break than Douglas on the Isle of Man. Douglas is the capital of the Island, has a fantastic sandy beach, and the pretty seafront is lined with hotels, restaurants and attractions. It’s also an ideal base from which to explore all the Isle of Man has to offer. Douglas is also where the famous tail-less Manx cat originated from.

Perfect for...

  • Families looking for a UK, beach-based break with plenty of local attractions and day trips.
  • Nature lovers wanting to explore the delights of the Isle of Man countryside.
  • Groups looking for a destination with plenty of activities, sightseeing opportunities and a mix of historic and contemporary attractions.

  • The Manx Electric Railway is another must-see and great fun for families. It offers journeys from Douglas to Ramsey and Laxey and is perfect for a daytrip.
  • Within easy reach is Curraghs Wildlife Park. Situated in nearby Ballaugh this natural wetland is perfect for all thoose wildlilfe lovers, boasting some of Europe’s rarest birdlife including some endangered species.
