The Winterton Roman Villa is another interesting landmark in Scunthorpe. The relics might be a weathered insight into magnificence of the original building but they are still fascinating to explore.
• Scunthorpe is home to a couple of shopping centres that offer shopaholics a place to get their spending fix. It isn’t a go-to destination for the latest trends and gadgets, but Scunthorpe has enough retailers for the bare essentials.
• Eating out in Scunthorpe can be as flashy or as affordable as a visitor wants. Familiar restaurants are located towards the centre and a number of the local pubs serve up great homemade food. There aren’t many fine dining establishments but plenty of places to get a decent meal.
• The local pubs in Scunthorpe are a great place to spend your evenings. They’ll stay open as late as you can drink and there’s always a few Scunthorpe locals who are more than happy to tell stories of their industrial past.
