Festivals
- Worcester is world renowned for its annual and biannual festivals that attract thousands of people to the city every year. Notably the first is the Three Choirs Festival that returns to the city once every three years. It is held alternately between the ‘three counties’ Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire and is one of the key events in the musical calendar. When in Worcester it is held at the Worcester cathedral and pays homage to the careers of various British composers.
- The second annual festival that is a must when in Worcester is the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) beer and cider festival. In 2009 this even alone attracted over 11,000 people to the city and is one of the most popular events of the city’s calendar.
Cultural Sights
- To get your cultural juices flowing it is also possible to see all the sites of the city while chugging leisurely along the river on one of the many cruises that are scheduled regularly. Alternatively, head directly to one of the most historic monuments in the city, Worcester Cathedral, which dates back to 1084.
