- There are a number of annual events which take place around Tucson, not least of which is the exciting Downtown Urban Street Fest. This lively event is a family-friendly outdoor celebration, which takes place on the second Saturday of every month and involves a colourful mixture of music, dance and performance arts.
- A similar event taking place at the Doubletree Hotel Reid Park throughout the spring is the Carnival of Illusion. This celebration of traditional conjuring takes place in a picturesque, old world setting, and comes highly recommended to young and old alike.

When it comes to excursions, there are a number of interesting destinations in the area surrounding Tucson. Why not take a trip out to nearby Willcox, for example? This interesting town boasts a rich cultural heritage, as well as hosting the ever-popular Wings Over Willcox festival – an internationally acclaimed celebration of local nature.
Alternatively, Santa Cruz is another destination within easy reach, and here you’ll find a range of museums, galleries, shops and bars… not to mention a fantastic farmers market, held at the Mercado San Agustin each Thursday.
