Explore Kanab

As well as being a key base for visiting the surrounding areas, the town itself is worth some exploration during your Kanab holiday. Its historical district, while small, is fascinating for those who enjoy old architecture, with buildings dating back to the late 1800s.

• If you’re an animal lover, make sure you don’t miss the Best Friends Animal Society, which is America’s biggest sanctuary. With almost 4000 acres being home to around 2000 animals, from cats and dogs to pigs and donkeys you might even struggle to leave.

• Try your hand at being a cowboy at the Western Legends Round-up, or discover how Kanab served as a backdrop to many a movie at the Little Hollywood Movie Museum at Frontier Movie Town.

The Canyon County

Of course no holiday to Kanab would be complete without the chance to see some of the Canyon County in its full glory. Choose from a range of tours that depart from the town, visiting places such as the Grand Canyon, Zion National Park and Lake Powell.

• The most famous of all of these is the Grand Canyon. You can experience the north rim of the famous landmark that spans across almost 300 miles lengthways and is a mile deep at points. Take a guided hike across the rim of the canyon, or even camp overnight to take advantage of the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
• Zion National Park is an extensive land filled with cliffs, forestry and desert land and is favoured amongst hikers, backpackers, climbers and canyoning enthusiasts.
